SINFONIA 3 Saturdays: tuning 8:00am; Full rehearsal 8:15 to 8:45;
and Sectionals 8:45 to 9:15. Technical requirements are:
All players should have started to read music (note names and counting whole notes, half notes, and quarter notes. Tuition for the above orchestra will be $205.00 for the semester ORCHESTRA PLACEMENT will be by telephone with director Dennis Bourret at 520.465.1334
SINFONIA 2 Saturdays: tuning 8:30am; Full rehearsal 8:45 to 9:30; Sectionals 9:30 to 10:00
Technical requirements are:
a. Violins eighth notes and sixteenth notes
b. Violas - eighth notes
c. Cellos – eighth notes and sixteenth notes
d. Basses -eighth notes Tuition will be $210.00 for the semester ORCHESTRA

SINFONIA 1 Saturdays: tuning 9:15am; full rehearsal 9:30 to 10:15; Sectionals 10:15 to 11:00
Technical requirements are: a. Violins - sixteenth notes in third position

c. Cellos - sixteenth notes in fourth position

JUNIOR CHAMBER Saturdays
Tuning: 9:45am; full rehearsal 10 to 11:00; Sectionals 11:00 to 11:45
Technical requirements ALL players MUST have a useable vibrato PLUS:
a. Violins – sixteenth notes in 5th position b. Violas - eighth notes in 5th position
c. Cellos - sixteenth notes in thumb position
d. Basses – Eighth notes through the first five positions Tuition for the semester is $220.00

and 2: Monday, February 13 A combined Chamber II and Chamber I level Monday evenings 7:00 – 9:15
PM ALL PLAYERS MUST HAVE A USEABLE VIBRATO. PLUS - Violins - sixteenth notes in seventh position and a good vibrato
Violas - sixteenth notes in third position and a good vibrato
Cellos - thumb position, tenor clef, and a good vibrato
Basses - eighth notes through 5th position and sixteenths through three
positions and a good vibrato Tuition will be $230.00 for the semester

B conducted, and there were only three orchestras at the time: Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced orchestras.
The "super group" or Chamber Orchestra was added in the fall semester of 1972. click

TUITIONS $205 FOR Sinfonia 3 $210 for Sinfonia 2 $215 for Sinfonia 1 $220 for Junior Chamber $240 for Chamber II $260 for Chamber I Partial financial assistance is available on a need basis. Payment may be made by credit card (Visa Mastercard, American Express, Pay Pal), check or cash. Tuitions must be paid in full before the final week of the semester or a student may not register for the next semester.
AUDITIONS Placement is determined by technical ability and by note-reading ability.
SINFONIA ORCHESTRAS - Phone interview for initial placement. No playing audition is required for new members to the program, however, once a member of TJS, an audition is required to move up.
JUNIOR CHAMBER AND CHAMBER II - You must meet technical requirements to qualify -- all string players should already play with vibrato, 5th position reading ability for violins and violas; thumb position/treble clef for cellists.
CHAMBER I Auditions occur only in late August.
ALL AUDITIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. To participate in Chamber II or Chamber I, you must be in 8th grade or above. Audition to show ability to perform at Chamber Orchestra level IS required.
Besides certain technical requirements, TJS members are required to participate in their school orchestra program.
